BEING A GOOD LEADER

The crisis and complicated issues across the globe are all traced to the influence of our leaders. LEADERSHIP IS NOT JUST A ROLE ONE PLAYS; IT IS A LIFE ONE LIVE AND LEADS.

True leadership has always been built on story character. The greatest obstacle to a leader’s success is a deficit of character. It is essential to teach and train the leaders the priority of character.

Imagine you owned a business and have been using a particular supplier for many years. Then, the supplier was exposed as having been repeatedly dishonest in his billing practices. Assuming he wasn’t put in jail would you continue to do business with him?

OR

Suppose you supported a particular friend but found out that he has been taking bribes for years, living a lavish lifestyle without you knowing will you continue to support him?

We can easily know the basic reason why leaders who have some weakness especially in CHARACTER lose the trust of their followers because of betrayal as well as the pain and anger it generate.

As a leader, you must ask yourself “AM I IN A WAY VIOLATING THE TRUST OF THOSE WHO HAVE PLACED THEIR HOPE IN ME”?

What impact am I having on those who are influenced or affected by my behaviour?. “Once you lose the trust of others, it is very difficult to win it back”

Truly, no one is perfect but a leader who desires to be strong and effective will summon the courage to identify and root out his weakness. Everyone have positive and negative character traits.

”Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by a passion, generated by a vision, produced by a convention, ignited by a purpose”.

Everyone is a leader, where ever the position you are or you find yourself, you are a leader!! therefore, you need to possess a GOOD CHARACTER IN ALL YOUR SETTINGS.
