My friend laughed out loud when he heard I was inaugurated as a member of Nigerian Institute of Management(Chartered), he said "You this man, you sha want to take farming to a professional level.

Yes, I answered like an automatic bot. He could see from my action, all I have engaged and still engaging myself. I wanna work at the professional level and bring professionalism into Agriculture.

I remember when I was called to introduce myself a conference, I boldly stood up and energetically said " I AM A CORPORATE FARMER".

They all smile and a young man asked "Who is a corporate farmer?. I answered him and he was amazed (that's not where am going).

I believe in one Yoruba adage which says " It is how you call something that people will help you call it" therefore, if I can openly pronounce agriculture as the profession for the professionals, I think am still on point.

It is high time we started tagging MODERNIZATION AND CIVILIZATION or I should call it TechFarmPreneur in agriculture.

 You know why????????

- People will change their general prospection about agriculture and farmers.

- Teens will be reoriented and will be proud to tell everyone " I WANT TO BE CORPORATE FARMER IN THE FUTURE"

- Government will be ascertain that, agriculture is not a dumping ground for their economy failures.

- Agriculture sector will not be sympathised but view with mind of "LIFE SAVIOUR".

- It will be clearly stated that "AGRICULTURE IS A PILLAR FOR EVERY NATION".

#As a farmer|Agropreneur, don't settle for less.

#Go for conference, workshop, seminars even outside the corners of agriculture.

#Engage in professional courses.

#Dress Corporate

All these are not waste of time or resources, this will add to the way you do things. It will;

- Change your orientation.

- Change your lifestyle (even the way you dress and speak as a farmer).

- It gives agriculture a new name.

- Improves your farming techniques.

- Gives you a modern mindset and transform your farm produce packaging.

- Enrich your pocket (You learn a better way of minimizing your cost implications).

- Encourage youths participation in agriculture.

- And also help in economy growth(micro and macro level).

BACK TO FARM

Despite the decline in interest for agriculture as a career there are still young farmers working all over the world. To encourage others to join the sector it is vital that they are offered a voice, and that we take note of what they have to say.
Particularly this includes giving young farmers at policy level a chance to offer their opinion and experiences. In this way, they can show other young people that farming can be a rewarding career as well as highlighting the important role of agriculture on a global scale.
The future of AGRICULTURE no doubt lies in the hands of the youths. I strongly believe that youths are the transformers needed in the agriculture sector as the CHANGE AGENT for sustainable tomorrow.
